The Decatur County Family YMCA is proud to be a part of a community that cares about  itself and invests in its own future. The YMCA strives not only to be a pillar of the community, it also strives to be a positive catalyst for molding the community.

In 1914, Mr. Nelson Mowery took his vision of community and turned it into a legacy. Mr. Mowery, a Greensburg local, funded the construction of the original Decatur County Family YMCA, located on Broadway St. The YMCA not only was a great place to workout and participate in athletics, it also became a strong, central location for community involvement.

Continuing the legacy, in the year 2000 the doors were opened to a brand new YMCA facility thanks to the generous and enthusiastic support and commitment of an entire community. And now over 90 years later, we think Mr. Mowery would be still be proud.
